Evgeni Plushenko: "Despite everything, I will
perform at the Olympics! "

Sports press released another scandal.

Еntered into force the verdict of the International Skating Union (ISU), which pushed our skater Evgeni Plushenko from all international competition for an indefinite period. By them, Evgeni could prevent up to 2014 Olympics.

Remember, this story began still in spring. Olympic champion, citing injury, not could come at the world championships in Turin.
But, because participation in conventional appearances can do without the execution of difficult jumps, Plushenko did not abandon his show tour "Kings on Ice." Sports officials did not like it and they removed our skaters a year from all competitions.

Where from is appeared information about the fact that Plushenko will not be allowed to perform at the Olympic Games in Sochi, could not figure out. Perhaps, as always, worked somebody's "wild imagination" on internet.
That is and why Evgeni Plushenko on this issue did not let comments anyone. Olympic champion made an exception only for the "Komsomolskaya Pravda".

- Zhenya, what actually happened?
- I have not talked to my coach Alexei Nikolaevich Mishin yet, because I am at the airport now - flying from Japan to Russia. But I read the coach's comment on the Internet and what he said is also my opinion. Indeed, we're going to continue training, despite all the rumors in the press.
As far as I know, I have been deprived of amateur status for one year only, but the press for some reason writes that I was banned from competition for four years, they say, I have no right to skate in the Olympic Games in Sochi. This is actually not true.
I think nobody can and will not dare to deprive me of the amateur status for four years, because the new rules exclude for four years of competition only those athletes, who have taken doping.
My situation is completely different. I was accused of allegedly not notifying our figure skating federation about my shows and skating at the exhibitions without their consent. But even this, if true, is strange. To ban an athlete from international competitions for a year, for something like this - in my opinion this is not entirely justifiable.
And journalists who now write that I won't be allowed to compete in the Olympic Games in Sochi are simply not familiar with the rules of the figure skating federation! They just do not understand the situation.

- And how''s your mood in general? You've just participated in shows in Japan.
- The mood is ok, except this news. But I think we can handle it. My dream - to skate in the home Olympics, which will be held for the first time in Sochi.
We fought for it, we defended it, and I think that I will do my best to be there. Be not as a spectator, but as a sportsman, who will skate for his country.
As for my shows in Japan, it's all cool. I fly to China next, and then back to Japan.
I jump triple axels, I train every day, I'm not not discouraged and will continue to prepare for competitions. We do not give up, and we will keep going.

- Is it true that you made a tattoo in Japan ? You finally went for it? I remember you last year, saying that you want a tattoo like David Beckham.
- Yes, I did three tattoos in Japan. I wanted to make a tattoo for a very long time, but I did not know what kind of tattoo exactly I wanted. And then I decided. On one arm - the name of my wife written in Japanese characters, and on the other arm a Latin writing: "Viam supervadet vadens" (exact meaning: the path will be overcome by the one who walks it) I like this phrase very much, this is my motto for life. There was everything In my life - the ups and downs. So I decided, that it was this phrase, that should be one of my tattoos. And on the same hand I have a tattoo of cross with wings. Well, about the cross tattoo.... The meaning of it is that I must bear my cross in life, as a believer. I had them done by a very famous tattoo artist - he did tattoos for the group Metallica.

- Three tattoos at once? It's important to know when to stop.
- I think I'm gonna get more. All in good time.

- Yana said she also wants to get a tattoo with your name and the logo of the Olympic Games in Sochi ...
- If she wants, she will, of course. You simply have to come to a point when you're ready.
