Re: Женя на тренировках || Zhenya on training

There is probably something of the truth :du_ma_et: ... maybe not the whole choreography, than Stephane will "help" Plushy with some elements :-):
Thanks cekoni! I agree with your view :co_ol: still it is interesting.

---------
Only interesting pieces to us from Absolute Skating yesterday. Now, the situation has changed a little? No change? I dont know. We'll see :-)

Two young hopefuls in the school of Valais Lambiel and Plushenko

Alba Fonjallaz, Figure Skating Club of Monthey and Yoonmi Lehmann Club Sierre Crans-Montana and participate for three weeks in training camp Pinzolo (Italian Tyrol) led by the famous and mythical Alexei Mishin, former champion of the former USSR, vice-world champion and trainer of record couple of Evgeni Plushenko, triple world champion, Olympic champion and five times European champion.
....

A revelation

For our two young Valais, the camp is a revelation. To benefit from the advice and demonstrations of some of the best skaters in the world represents a unique opportunity to grow by example. The kindness of Lambiel, relaxation of the fascinating Plushenko make it less intimidating yet the gap between our young sporting superstars of skating.

Note - it still seemed unlikely a few months ago - the active collaboration of our world champion in the program of his former rival Plushenko.

See Stéphane Lambiel teach his secrets of attitudes and pirouettes to whoever would win the title the next Olympics to be held in his country (in Sochi in 2014) will undoubtedly be remembered by Yoonmi and Alba.

From the tweets of some student in the camp (her twitter is not private, it is open, but I remember there were people here who were against publishing links to twitters so I won't, just in case) I understand that the situation is a bit different. Stéphane indeed is working with Liza and Artur, but Evgeny has the whole other team around him and Stéphane is not working with him, so there is no any "active collaboration" there. More than that Evgeny is at rather early stages of his comeback at the moment....

I agree with you reut, having read the twitter messages as well.

However there might be room for a collaboration in the future. In a Pirouette magazine inteview from this month, Plushenko talks about his future plans to work as a trainer for Mishin or to have his own figure skating residental school, and after Sochi he would also like to realize his own figure skating shows. We'll see.
For his new choreographies Plushenko mentions collaborations with Marina Iatsevitch, David Avdisch and Kurt Browning (for the transitions)......

Re: Другие интересные новости || Other interesting news

You made another news topic? I think this type "related-Plushy-general-news topic" can be joined in "Monthly news"(in my taste) :plush38: But I waited for general topic like this topic. :plush40:

Here is another, even smaller skater, which idol is Plushy :plush33:

http://www.ohmynews.com/NWS_Web/view/at_pg.aspx?CNTN_CD=A0001599403
He looks like Japanese girl skater Yuki Nishino a little. So cute.
Orange says he is a high level skater. Maybe we will see him in 2018? :-)

-----------------
By the way, Stephane Lambiel talked about Evgeni in his book . He was saying like "Plushenko has elegance in his skating, but also has a strength. He is seemingly cool as a cucumber and unaggressive (I dont know how can I say) , but actually he is very assertive. He has great speed and I like it. I think he is simply elegant. He skates very cleanly."
:plush19: < Thanks Steph!

This book, almost his photos. If you are a fan of Stephane, you should buy :plush32:

Re: Пресса о Жене, интервью Жени || Press about Evgeni ON Ic

He is officially out of the Cup of Russia. So, I won't go to Moscow. :plush27: His reasons are pretty understandable- to recover his health after two operations and prepare for the season. But I am still mystified with what he will skate in Japan.
Thank you for the news. :plush36: I wonder if he competes in October?

Feeling sad a little, but I'm relieved that he won't participate in CoR. Because I believe he needs a rest more, at least four months after such serious suegeries.. I just hope Evgeni's health is okay and his dream will come true. :plush47:

Н.Мишин || Evgeni and his coach Mish

I found old article about Mishin (and Plush). I don't know I can post this here. And I guess I've already posted it before, but I couldn't find :plush38: If my post is not good for here, please move to the proper topic :plush47:

----------
From Japanese magazine "Figure Skating Days Plus 2009-2010"
Interview with Fumie Suguri

.....
- Mishin is also a scientist. What do you think about his method?
- He makes a special effort to technical side. He is pretty logical. Everyday he gives the Sermon to his pupils. (Laugh) :-)

.....
- Please tell us how Mishin joked?
- I know many things. When the first time I met him, he said to me "You are walking a whole day the same place like an elephant in the jungle! That's whay you can't make a good job!!" (Laugh). And, he divided his students into two groups because there are too many skateres. He called two groups - "Ugly" and "Not ugly" (Laugh). I know much more about that. It's so funny. :hi_hi_hi:

- "Coach Mishin" reminds me of Plushenko. Do you think relationships between them is special?
- I do think it seems that Plushenko is special to him. He usually lays down the law to his pupils. But I see he has a sort of parental love (she says like "Daddy's love" in Japanese :hi_hi_hi: ) for Plushenko. Sometimes he looks at Plushenko with concerned eyes (Laugh). So, Plushenko is special unlike other pupils.

I'm a little confused by the name here...Wasn't it Marina? Who is Irina? Or is it possible the reporter had the name wrong somehow? :plush38:
I don't know about her work well, too :ne_vi_del: Anyway I understand he needs softer movement, so he works with female dancer.

From WFS49. It's the same interview as IFS but slightly different. Evgeni was saying about new programs: "I have already chosen a song for long program. Though I don't show it yet, the only things I can say for now is it will have another image and tragic feeling. Also I have some ideas for my new short program. This time I will not work with Edvin Marton."

Does someone remember when he & Tatjana met? In May? I don'T remember. :du_ma_et:

Re: Пресса о Жене, интервью Жени || Press about Evgeni ON Ic

I've read the T.Flade article also at WFS. Maybe WFS is more raw ("unedited"). :plush38:

For example
.....
EP - I want to open my own skating school here in St. Petersburg. If Alexei Nikolaevich agrees with me, I would like to continue his school. Because I intend to train students with his system and technique. Yes, I will add my original process later as I got more coaching experience. I have this dream to build a school, not just a skating school with an ice rink, but maybe with a place where the young skaters can live train and study. I also would like to produce my own skating shows after Sochi when I retired. I have a lot of plans. I want to stay involved with skating and help to educate new athletes.

TF - You open new school at Yubileyny where you have been training since you were 11?
EP - I want to open my school which have two ice rinks for figure skating and ice hockey. I want to talk to top ice hockey players to establish our school together. This is the full details of my future plan. I will work hard for the growth of children and people's better health.

TF - Does anyone help your project?
EP - For now, private investors and my friends support me. Of course, I think my plan will be supported by the Russian government. When my plan became more concrete, I will talk to Dmitrii Anatolievich Medvedev and Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin to get permission about all of my plans. We still don't have enough ice rinks in St. Petersburg. Academy of figure skating and Yubileiny are too crowded. Room (for ballet or warm-up) is insufficient. We have only one room. My school must be equipped with a fitness centre or choreography room, Swimming Pool, Sauna, everything. ... [he talked about his dream school] ... I know it's difficult to make my plan reality. But this is good for children, coaches and figure skating.
......
I prefer WFS version to IFS version. IFS version was too edited and made me feel impersonal. :ga-ze-ta;

Russian Skaters Preview New Programs
At Test Skates in Moscow
http://www.ifsmagazine.com/sections/articles/articles/2181-russian-skaters-preview-new-programs

By Tatjana Flade
Published: 09/16/11
The Russian Figure Skating Federation held its annual test skate for the national team in September where skaters presented their new programs to both the press and public.

This year, the event played out over four days (Sept. 4-5 and 7-8) in Moscow. Not all skaters were present and not all showed their competitive programs, but most did showing that they are ready for the new season.

.....
Evgeni Plushenko showed up for the first test skates and performed his exhibition program to “Je suis malade” which included some triple Axels. “Evgeni is skating very well”, said his longtime coach Mishin. “But after his knee surgery he does not want to push himself too hard right now.”

Hersh's follow-up article about Lysacek

Olympian view: From Paris, Lysacek saw Sochi Winter Games on the horizon
Skater's comeback plans began during summer vacation

Globetrotting by Philip Hersh
2:37 p.m. CDT, September 24, 2011

......
Lysacek’s first competition could be Skate America Oct. 21-23, although he is not ready to commit to that.

“I’m not a point where I think I’m ready to lay it on the line just yet,” he said. “To a certain extent, every competition now will be going all in. I’m not necessarily a gambling man that takes crazy chances. I would like to know I’m really in shape before I step out there.”

Lysacek said his decision likely would come after he performs his new programs – with music he will not yet disclose – before a panel of judge monitors. He is working on three different permutations of short programs and intends to have a quadruple jump in the free skate. Lysacek wants to see the effect of scoring changes that limit some spin elements and reduce the value of the triple axel, the most difficult jump he did in winning the 2010Olympics.

......
He may skate at the 2012 U.S. Championships in January even if he does not skate on the Grand Prix Circuit this fall.

“I’d love to do nationals," he said. "I have spent the past four months training, so I would hope it’s not for nothing.”

Evgeni's message about withdrawing from JO

Dear my Japanese fans.

It is pity for me to announce you that I decided to withdraw from Japan Open 2011 and Carnival on Ice 2011 which will be held in Saitama Super Arena on October 1st. As you all know well, I did my best to train my body and skating to show my best performance to my important fans and friends in Japan since I decided to participate in these event on May. However, my doctor finally advised me to stop training until October 10th for complete recovery of my injury . Believe or not, I was seriously irresolute if I should participate in Japan Open 2011 with ignoring the advice from my doctor to show my performance for my dear friends in Japan. After long deliberation, I finally decided to obey to the advice of my doctor and withdraw from Japan Open 2011 and Carnival on Ice2011.
I really hope that you people understand my decision which was not easy for me.
Lastly, I will promise you that I will be back to Japan to show my best performance to you in the near future.

Evgeni Plushenko

Though his absence is really sad, I'm sure, nobody complains about it. The most important thing is his health! :plush36:

By the way, he can't return to normal training "until October 10th" ? Oh. Poor Zhenya :-(

Interview with Mishin about Liza & Gachi after JO

First. About Liza.

Second. About Gachinski.

Interview with Lambiel about summer camp

Can somebody read Italian or German? I've read them throug Japanese fan site of Stephane Lambiel. So I don't know whether this is correct or not :)

Two interviews with Lambiel from Germany (by Tatjana Flade) and Italy.

From Pirouette.
Stephane mentioned about works with Zhenya, Gachinski, Liza, and other Mishin's kids during summer camp. Stephane was very honored that Mishin asked Stephane to coach his pupils. It was great experience for him. Mishin has many kinds of talented skaters. Stephane worked especially with Gachi and Liza, and Zhenya (for a short time). And then, he worked with also younger skaters.
Zhenya joined the camp after injury. So, he began to practice slowly. Stephane showed variety of skills to Evgeni. He believes Evgeni absorbed them and will add something to new programs.
Zhenya had expressed a keen interest in learning something new. Working with a former rival Evgeni wasn't different from other skaters. Because Evgeni also has will to learn and was feeling the need to learn something. When they were working together, Stephane didn't see Evgeni as a former rival but rather as a friend who needs help.
Although Stephane did not choreograph, showed various points to Evgeni. He hopes Evgeni will add them to his programs.

Re: Пресса о Жене, интервью Жени || Press about Evgeni ON Ic

Thanks, girls :plush39: .... :du_ma_et: Actually, nothing new :mi_ga_et:
I don't think so. I am glad to know what Evgeni learned from Stephane. And, very happy to hear that he wanted to learn something new. And this is official comment by Stephane himself, not from a fan.
I was actually very afraid if Evgeni goes back into the past like Joub. And it's still nightmare for me if Evgeni abandon works with Stephane and repeat the same old style since Torino. :plush35:

Further story about Lysacek not competing in GP

Lysacek pulls out of Skate America
Skater couldn't reach agreement with federation
...
Top skaters often received high six-figure contracts from USFS in the days when the federation was flush with television money....

"We respect Evan's decision," U.S. Figure Skating executive director David Raith said in the release. "We will continue to support Evan as he works toward the 2014 Olympic Winter Games."

I regret to inform that I am withdrawing from the 2011 Grand Prix Series. I am extremely trained and eager to compete at Skate America, but a suitable agreement could not be reached between US Figure Skating and myself by the event entry deadline. I'm extremely disappointed in this turn of events, but I hope to be back on competitive ice this season.

Lysacek's comment is added to Hersh's article.

-----------

In text messages to me early Saturday morning, Lysacek declined comment on details of the issues between him and USFS but said they had not affected his training.

"I am in the best shape of my life," he said. "I'll continue to train with the hope an agreement can be reached by the U.S. Championships."
