The Grand Gala celebrates the unification of Italy

Here comes the "Gran Gala 2011", Saturday, April 9 to 21.00 at the Palavela with unique emotions, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy. Turin confirms capital of figure skating, with one of the main events in Italy.

The opening of the 2011 Grand Gala of ice skating will be entirely dedicated to Italy and in particular to the host city with a video-postcard of the "Committee 150" (the main sponsor of the Gala) to Turin, "The first capital of Italy."

Athletes will take the Ice to hear the national anthem and flag-raising ceremony, to be followed an extract from the "Va' pensiero" from Verdi.
To the tune of "Nessun Dorma" from "Turandot" by Puccini, the athletes will perform a group number that will open the event.

Afterwards, the young talents of Piedmont will perform with stunning costumes, specially created for the evening. All the choreography of the Gala are signed by Silvia Fontana.
