Мне почему-то ну вот совершенно по барабану кто сколько там зарабатывает, буд-то хоть Путин, хоть Женя.

Спикер ЗакСа Вадим Тюльпанов оказался далеко не самым богатым народным избранником, а фигурист Евгений Плющенко вошел в число наиболее бедных парламентариев. Правда, честь спортсмена отстояла его супруга - она является самой богатой депутатской женой.

Больше всех в ЗакСе за прошлый год заработал председатель комиссии по транспортному комплексу, член фракции «Единая Россия» Игорь Риммер. Его доход составил 8,7 млн. рублей. На втором месте....

Ok, so he was the poorest...
First of all I totally agree with Dasska: they should stop counting other people's money. It's inappropriate and I can only think of one excuse :it's politics and everything should be in the open to avoid corruption. Still it is not right.
Secondly, why on earth should someone who has worked so hard, who has been training so ruthlessly from a little boy until today and who has made his compatriots proud so many times be poor????
I personally would be very happy if Plush had a huge mansion, lived in absolute luxury with his beautiful wife and had a lot of money. HE DESERVES IT!! He is excellent in what he does and people who work hard should be REWARDED. And that's that.

Do you have any idol?

I don’t have any, but I used to have when I was young. My idol was Evgeni Plushenko.

So what was it like to compete against him?

I already trained with him because he came to a summer camp in Spain with his coach Alexei Mishin. We talk sometimes. I still admire him, but he is not an idol for me any more, because now I want to beat him. Of course I can’t do it right now, but maybe in the future.

This year there was a big debate about the quad jumps. You have the quad in your free program, so what is your opinion, should the skaters try it or avoid it?

I think quad is a really hard jump and there are not many people who can do it, in the world. It’s important to have it in your program, but not that important that if you land a quad, you will automatically be a world champion. You have to be a complete skater. You have to skate well and jump good.

Q. Let’s go back to Plushenko. Through the agent’s eyes, are there any downsides to working with an athlete like that, or is it all rosy?

A. Our business is not at its best, and promoting anyone is difficult to begin with. The second problem is that the most money is found in the American markets, while Zhenya is a Russian skater. His English isn’t the best, and his media relations skills are substandard.

Q. Is this your opinion?

A. This is an opinion that I routinely hear from your colleagues. Zhenya has his quirks. He doesn’t like talking to reporters before the competition. And after the competition, most of them are gone. But we are working on it.

Q. Is it important to you that Plushenko has good press in Russia?

A. Certainly. Professionals in the States follow Russian press. Besides, everyone has Internet access, and translations of Russian articles appear all the time. (Finally! Some - N) I think Zhenya cares what they write about him at home. He’s a patriot of his country, just like Anton Sikharulidze. I can feel it just talking to him. He always roots only for the Russian teams and Russian NHL players.

Plushenko does have a prejudice against reporters as a class. Not because of his dislike of a particular reporter. Mostly because he understands that reporting is a business that can turn out in different ways. He believes that if people want to really know him, they should watch him on the ice.

He may be right. But I am thinking like an agent and relying on my experience. Michelle Kwan’s popularity in the U.S. is no accident. From a business standpoint, she’s perfect. She smiles to everyone, never says no to an interview or a signing, meets with fans and makes pictures. These are the bricks that make the house of popularity. And this popularity does not go away even when the skater starts losing.
