I dont know... I am afraid that Piseev will press Plushy to go on Worlds

I think probably not. Let's face it, Plushy is Russian Men's only hope to medal at Sochi, even if there are more seats for Russia, others won't stand good chances. If these skaters cannot even fight for the spot on the World for themselves, it would be non-sense to risk injuring Plushy fighting for spots which would not produce any useful outcome at Sochi. If Plushy got injured, Russia would not stand any chance of winning at Sochi Olympics.

I think the best strategy would be let the one (other than Plushy) who get good results from GP events RN and European Championship to go to the World and pray that he would have two "on" day to be able to secure 2 spots for Sochi. If unfortunately this guy failed, then nobody should blame Plushy to take the one spot and speaks at Sochi because they have the chances but could not take it.

It's likely.. for example: "If we have only 1 sport at Sochi, then you won't skate well at individual event. so you have to go to Canada for yourself blah blah"

Закончился московский этап Гран-при по фигурному катанию собравший целую россыпь звезд. Состав практически не уступал Олимпиаде и чемпионату мира. Не хватало только китайских дуэтов в парном катании. Ну, конечно, Евгения Плющенко, который всегда украсит любой турнир...

Больше всего вопросительновосклицательных интонаций и многоточий — к Артуру Гачинскому.

Девятый на Skate Canada, седьмой в Москве… И это после прошлогоднего чемпионата Европы, когда Артур в короткой программе обошел Плющенко, а свою медаль на пьедестале разглядывал с хмурым лицом человека, претендующего на иное! Что же произошло?

— Пусть это останется нашей маленькой тайной, — попросил не давить на него тренер Алексей Мишин. — Артур фактически пропустил всю подготовку к сезону. Сдавал ЕГЭ, были и другие причины, о которых не хотелось бы распространяться. Он сейчас физически не готов исполнять четверные прыжки. Сделай он их — представьте, на каком был бы месте…

В том, что Мишин сделает все, чтобы вывести Артура из душевного кризиса, сомнений нет. Но тревожит то, что кризис у него затянулся. И нельзя же все время надеяться на Евгения Плющенко, который и так уже перекрыл все мыслимые и немыслимые достижения и продолжает восхищать мир. Он катается здорово, несмотря на травмы, но нужна же достойная смена, в конце концов, за последние 15 лет!...

Еще до начала шоу, во время раскатки спортсменов, нам удалось «отловить» Марию Петрову и Максима Стависского и задать им несколько вопросов.

- Скоро стартуют чемпионаты Европы и мира по фигурному катанию, через год – Олимпийские игры в Сочи. Кого из нашей сборной видите с медалями?

Маша: Сейчас сложно сказать… Но спортивное парное катание у нас сильное, на золотые медали вполне могут претендовать Татьяна Волосожар/Максим Траньков и Юка Кавагути/Александр Смирнов. Девочки-одиночницы очень сильные. Также Женя Плющенко готовится к Олимпиаде. Ему будет очень важно получить медаль любого достоинства, потому что в его жизни это будет уже четвертая Олимпиада…

Максим: У нас сложилась очень неплохая сборная. Три танцевальные пары Боброва/Соловьев, Ильиных/Косолапов и Рязанова/Ткаченко очень сильные. Они могут вклиниться в общую борьбу, а Катя Боброва и Дима Соловьев могут спокойно бороться за второе место. А еще у нас есть бессмертный Женя Плющенко, он в великолепной форме! Прыгает потрясающе! Главное, чтобы здоровье позволило выступить ему на Олимпиаде, ведь ему не 16 лет (на днях Плющенко отметил свое 30-летие. – Прим. авт.).

The winning strategy is to stay healthy, and deliver two clean programs, then he WILL be on the podium. What are the chances that those young guns deliver two clean programs at the Olympic, or any competition? He doesn't need to go to Worlds to build reputation points, he is beyond that.

Then let Chan has 100 points in PCS, who cares. One competition will not improve Plushy's PCS hugely and certainly will not reduce Chan's, so what is the point?

Plushenko has very special status among current skaters, he has the reputation, a very good one. To get great PCS for Plushy lies not in showing judges he can skate and perform. For these departments (SS, IN, PE), judges know he can deliver!! His weakness lies in TR and CH, which are closely related to the program itself, not what he is capable of. Therefore, if he will change his programs next season, getting good points with the current programs does not really matter that much.

So, if he wants to compete at the Worlds and his health allows him to do so, he will. Otherwise, it is not a disaster that he will not compete at the WORLDS.

And I do not care what will be the result from Sochi since he will certainly do his best, that is enough for me as a fan. What would be the outcome, only judges can decide.
