Good! Ontd girls posted a bunch of pics with Nan Song. He looks like a very friendly easy-going guy. I think he could be more artistic, in a true sense of this word, than he is doing now in his SP and LP. The choice of music is not very right methinks. That stuff is too pressing, even depressing. In his exhibition number he "opened" to us much deeper.

Chan should skate for Russia - there love figure skaters and treat them as a show-business stars

Some comments from Globe...

- Let's see here .... Kurt Browning, 4 time world champ and 4 time Canadian champ .... Elvis Stojko, 3 time world champ, 2 times Olympic silver medallist, and 7 time Canadian champ.
Patrick Chan, current World champ, and 4 time Canadian champ .... okay, Patrick .... you want to be appreciated like the big boys .... start acting like them. This is as if Sidney Crosby had said, no one appreciates me the way they do Gretzky. Hey, you are good, but we won't appreciate you like that til you become an elder statesman and an ambassador for the sport, and your country.
And let's be realistic ..... it's figure skating, for gawd's sake!! It's not like he's the next best thing since Banting and Best. If he wants to pout, let him go to China. Who cares??

- Isn't this the same goof who disparaged Stojko for saying that a quad was necessary to be a champion and then eventually did a 360 in his attitude towards the quad jump?
This guy is always whining about something but of course he doesn't seem to think that may account for why he is less popular than previous Canadian figure skaters.

World champion Patrick Chan's still got it. No, I'm not talking about the ability to land gorgeous quadruple jumps or perform glorious footwork. He's still got the ability to open his mouth and insert his foot.

UM, didn't Chan get himself some P/R folks when he was stepping in it a few years ago and annoying everyone by talking about how he didn't need quad jumps? Does he never learn?
....
But if he truly does feel underappreciated in Canada, all I can say is he's lucky he doesn't skate in America! I guarantee you if I asked 20 people on the street who Jeremy Abbott is, they would assume he is on a show on the Disney Channel or something.
