Maxim, like all foreign new comers in Japan, are confused about the meaning of Japanese はい (hai). It doesn't necessary mean "yes" or Russian "da." In most of cases it means "I am listening", "I heard your offer", "I acknowledged your view", etc. To translate it as just "yes" would be erroneous.
