ПЕКИН, 9 дек - РИА Новости. Борьба за золото в женском одиночном катании Финала юниорского Гран-при не закончилась, считает знаменитый российский тренер Алексей Мишин, ученица которого Елизавета Туктамышева занимает второе место после короткой программы.

Лидерство в состязаниях девушек Финала Гран-при захватила москвичка Аделина Сотникова, которая на три с половиной балла опережает Туктамышеву и на четыре - Полину Шелепень. Все три лучшие после короткой программы фигуристки - россиянки.

"Мы с тренером Лизы Светланой Веретенниковой считаем прокат ученицы хорошим, - отметил Мишин в разговоре с корреспондентом РИА Новости. - Уверен, что вся борьба за золото в соревнованиях еще впереди, и завтра всех ожидает очень интересный день".

Мишин добавил, что Туктамышева не на сто процентов справилась с элементами короткой программы.

"Мы планировали, что Лиза исполнит каскад "3-3", но второй прыжок она сдвоила", - констатировал тренер.

Обладательницы медалей в женском одиночном катании Финала юниорского Гран-при станут известны в пятницу.

ISU Junior and Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, Day 1

Victoria Sinitsina/Ruslan Zhiganshin (RUS) capture Junior Short Dance
The Russian couples dominated the Junior Ice Dance event, with Victoria Sinitsina/Ruslan Zhiganshin, Ksenia Monko/Kirill Khaliavin and Alexandra Stepanova/Ivan Bukin taking the top three spots in the Short Dance.
Sinitsina/Zhiganshin were the surprise winners of the Short Dance and took the lead with an elegant Waltz to „Algo Pequenito”. The couple picked up a level four for the twizzles, the rotational lift and the first part of the Vienniese Waltz Compulsory Dance to post a new seasons best of 55.58 points. „When we came here, we didn't think about any placment. Our goal was just to skate well”, Zhiganshin commented. „This is very unexpected for us. I was really surprised when I was in the dressing room and found out that we are in first place.”
Monko/Khaliavin danced to Edith Piaf's „Padam Padam“, but looked slow and had only a level one for the second sequence of the Viennese Waltz which cost them a few points. The defending Junior Grand Prix Final Champions and reigning World Junior bronze medalists earned 55.50 points, which was ten points lower than their seasons best. „We were tired and we skated rather poorly today. Today it didn't really work for us. We didn't show what we are capable of. I can assure you, tomorrow will be better“, Khaliavin told the press.
Stepanova/Bukin gave a strong performance to a Waltz and a Tango that was highlighted by smooth footwork and a one-armed rotational lift. The couple scored 53.59 points. „We felt good about today’s performance. It’s our first time at a Grand Prix Junior Final so of course we are a little bit nervous“, Stepanova said. „We tried our best and we had hoped for third place, but it was still a surprise for us. We are very happy to be in third right now“, she added.

Adelina Sotnikova (RUS) wins Junior Ladies Short Program
Adelina Sotnikova, Elizaveta Tuktamisheva and Polina Shelepen made it one, two, three for Russia in the Junior Ladies' Short Program.
Sotnikova stumbled on the back end of her triple Lutz-triple toe combination, but landed a triple loop and double Axel and had a level four on her three spins. She got 57.27 points for her routine to Waltzes by Johann Strauss. „I think I skated well today, but I didn't do everything to the end. I think I still can do better. So for the Free Skating tomorrow, I want to do everything as planned“, Sotnikova noted.
Skating to Oriental music, Tuktamisheva hit a triple Lutz-double toe combination, the required triple loop and double Axel to earn 53.76 points.“My Lutz wasn't perfect and I didn't want to risk too much. I wanted a clean performance and I felt it was better to do a good triple-double instead of a bad triple-triple“, the 13-year-old explained. „Our Russian girls have become stronger and this (result) is how it should be. Hopefully it will be the same tomorrow.“
Shelepen's program to a modern version of „Swan Lake“ included a triple Lutz-triple toeloop, the triple loop and double Axel. She collected 53.26 points. „I skated well today. Everything worked out, and I'm especially happy to have done the triple-triple combination. But I'm disappointed with the levels of my spins. I had aimed for a level four“, the Muscovite commented.

Richard Dornbush (USA) takes JuniorMen's Short Program
Richard Dornbush (USA) took the lead in the Men's Short Program ahead of teammate Keegan Messing and China's Han Yan.
Dornbush put out a strong performance to „Elena“ by Brian Setzer, reeling off a triple Lutz-triple toeloop combination, a triple Axel, and the required triple loop. The 19-year-old was awarded a level four for his three spins and earned a new seasons best of 70.25 points. „I went out there and had fun and did what I came to do. I have been training hard and think that my program is ready, I am there now“, Dornbush said. „Last year I was injured, but I did a lot of off ice training which really helped me keep in shape and body balanced. I stayed healthy and it has paid off today.“
Messing's dynamic program to the „Robin Hood“ soundtrack featured a big triple Axel, a triple Lutz-triple toeloop combination, but two spins were graded only a level one. Messing scored 68.52 points. „I let my blades fly, came out clean and enjoyed every second of it, too. My practice (for the short program) was a bit shaky but it kept me focused on the main event“, the 18-year-old from Alaska told the press.
Skating to „Cotton Club“, Yan produced a triple flip-triple toe combination, a double Axel and fast, well centered spins to pick up 67.29 points. „I feel the pressure is a lot higher here in Beijing. I performed as I did in training and I felt good. I only did a double Axel although I have been training a triple Axel, I may do it at the National Championships“, 14-year-old said.

Narumi Takahashi/Mervin Tran (JPN) lead Junior Pairs after Short Program
Narumi Takahashi/Mervin Tran of Japan took the lead in the Junior Pairs Short Program with Russia's Ksenia Stolbova/Fedor Klimov and Canadians Taylor Steele/Robert Schultz following in second and third.
Performing to „Feeling Good“, Takahashi/Tran completed a double twist, throw triple toeloop and got a level four for the side by side spin, the lift and the death spiral, but she fell on their first element, the double Axel. The reigning Junior World silver medalists scored 53.94 points. „The most important thing today wasn't the mnistake but what we did after the mistake. We did the rest of the elements pretty well and got a good score“, Takahashi noted.
Stolbova/Klimov had to overcome her fall on the double Axel as well, but landed the double twist and throw triple toeloop in their Spanish routine . The current World Junior bronze medalists earned 49.63 points. „It was our worst short program of the season“, Klimov admitted. „We missed the jump, we made an error in the footwork and we lost the level on the death spiral. These were just too many errors. Maybe we were too nervous or maybe we were affected by our preparation as Ksenia was sick prior to this competition“, he added.
Steele/Schultz put out a solid performance to „Malena“ by Ennio Morricone, completing, a double twist, a double Axel and a nice toe lasso lift, but she touched down with her hand on the throw triple toeloop. The Canadian couple was awarded 48.07 points. „We are very pleased with today's performance. We were really relaxed and let things just happen. We tend to focus more on our skating than on our elements and let the elements just happen“, Schultz offered.

The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final (Junior & Senior) continues Friday with the Junior Free Dance, Junior Ladies Free Skating, Short Dance, Men, Ladies and Pairs Short Programs.

В китайской столице Пекине стартовал финал серии Гран-при среди юниоров по фигурному катанию 2010 года. Программу четверга, 9 декабря, открыли танцоры на льду. После короткого танца лидируют россияне Синицына-Жиганшин. FSkate.ru сообщает подробности соревнований.

Из 8 участников финала в танцах 6 представляют Россию. Половина из этих дуэтов проводит свой последний сезон в юниорах в силу своего возраста. Таковыми участниками являются и чемпионы России среди юниоров 2010 года Ксения Монько - Кирилл Халявин (тренеры Ольга Рябинина, Елена Кустарова). Фигуристы из Москвы в прошлом году одержали победу в аналогичном Финале, а также выиграли бронзу на юниорском чемпионате мира. Несмотря на это, спортсмены решили остаться в юниорах и приехали в Пекин, по словам их тренера Елены Кустаровой, только за победой. В своём коротком танце Монько-Халявин не смогли сделать задел перед произвольным, проиграв другой российской паре.

На промежуточном первом месте оказались, прекрасно выполнившие свои элементы, Виктория Синицына и Руслан Жиганшин. Москвичи, которые тренируются у Елены Кустаровой и Светланы Алексеевой, крайне неожиданно опередили ряд своих более опытных и именитых соперников.

Спортсмены московского УОР №4 Александра Степанова и Иван Букин (тренеры Александр Свинин и Ирина Жук) уверенно дебютировали на своём первом Финале в карьере. Качественно исполнив все элементы, Степанова-Букин заработали 53.59 балла (29.57+24.02). Это позволило паре расположиться на промежуточном третьем месте.

Ученики прославленных тренеров Натальи Линичук и Геннадия Карпоносова, москвичи, тренирующиеся в США, Екатерина Пушкаш и Джонатан Гурейро неожиданно оказались на четвёртом месте. Российский дуэт получил не очень высокую оценку за технику, набрав 53.06 пункта (26.43+26.63).

Произвольный танец у юниоров состоится в пятницу, 10 декабря, в 14:15 по московскому времени.

Главной претенденткой на победу в Пекине является россиянка Аделина Сотникова (тренер - Елена Буянова). Фигуристка уверенно попала в Финал, выиграв два этапа серии с великолепными суммами баллов. В своей короткой программе Сотникова сделала с ошибкой 3Л+3Т (явно недокрут второго прыжка) и чистые 3Р и 2А. Это позволило россиянке захватить промежуточное первое место, набрав 57.27 пункта (31.52+25.75).

Вице-чемпионка России 2009 года Елизавета Туктамышева (тренеры Светлана Веретенникова и Алексей Мишин) ограничилась каскадом 3+2: 3Л+2Т, 3Р, 2А. Всего 53.76 балла (29.36+24.40) и основная борьба будет в произвольной программе.

Прошлогодний серебряный призёр ФЮГП Полина Шелепень (тренер Этери Тутберидзе) уверенно выполнила свою короткую программу. 3Л+3Т, 3Р, 2А и 53.26 пункта (30.71+22.55) от судей.

Японка Риза Шоджи (Risa Shoji) сделала прыжковый набор проще, чем Шелепень (3С+3Т, 3Р, 2А), но набрала свои высокие баллы за счёт компонентов катания. Всего в её активе 52.56 балла (28.56+24.00).

Неудачно выступили в короткой программе американки Кристина Гао (Christina Gao) и Ясмин Сираж (Yasmin Siraj). Обе фигуристки могли претендовать на попадание в сильнейшую разминку на произвольную программу, но допустили ряд ошибок. Гао упала на 2А, явно недокрутила 3Т+3Т и сделала 3Р. Сираж исполнила 1Л, оставшись без каскада, упала на 3Р и ограничилась только нормальным 2А.

Произвольная программа у девушек состоится в пятницу, 10 декабря, в 15:45 по московскому времени.

С 9 по 12 декабря в Пекине (Китай) проходит финал серии Гран-при среди юниоров по фигурному катанию 2010 года. В четверг, 9 декабря, свои короткие программы исполнили юноши. Лидирует американец Ричард Дорнбуш. FSkate.ru сообщает подробности соревнований.

Среди юношей в Китай приехало два ученика Алексея Урманова - Жан Буш и Гордей Горшков. Оба фигуриста представляют Санкт-Петербург и занимаются в Академии фигурного катания.

Горшков в своей короткой программе рискнул и попробовал выполнить 3А (приземление на ход вперёд). Также Гордей прыгнул 3Л+3Т и 3Р с помаркой. Всего от судей россиянин получил 55.55 балла (28.73+26.82) - это на 7 баллов хуже, чем на этапе в Германии.

Тройной аксель у Жана Буша получился значительно лучше, чем у напарника по сборной. 3А, 3Ф+3Т (без выезда) и 3Р. За программу, исполненную под музыку Игоря Крутого, петербуржец набрал 60.05 пункта (33.69+26.36).

На очень высоком уровне исполнил свою короткую программу американец Ричард Дорнбуш (Richard Dornbush), призёр Финала двухлетней давности. Фигурист выполнил 3Л+3Т, 3А и 3Р, заработав 70.75 балла (40.36+30.39). Почин товарища по команде поддержал ещё один американец Киган Миссинг (Keegan Messing): качественные 3А, 3Л+3Т, 3Р и 68.52 (38.02+30.50).

Единственным фигуристом, кто даже не попытался исполнить 3А, оказался 14-летний китаец Хан Янь (Han Yan). 3Ф+3Т, 3Р и 2А позволили хозяину соревнований заработать 67.29 балла (36.16+31.13) - наверное, не такую сумму должны получать фигуристы с таким катанием и таким набором элементов. По компонентам китайцу судьи умудрились поставить даже более высокие оценки, чем двум более сильным и более зрелым американцам.

Родившийся в Москве канадец Андрей Рогозин (Andrei Rogozine) одержал две уверенные победы на этапах серии. В короткой программе в Пекине Андрей допустил помарки на выездах с прыжков, получив, вероятно, ещё и недокруты. 3А, 3Ф+3Т, 3Р и 59.17 (30.35+28.82).

Произвольная программа у юношей состоится в субботу, 11 декабря, в 8:45 по московскому времени.

Россию в Пекине представляют две пары из Академии фигурного катания Санкт-Петербурга, воспитанники Людмилы Великовой и Николая Великова. Основные надежды россиян связаны с Ксенией Столбовой и Фёдором Климовым. Вторым отечественным дуэтом являются Анна Силаева и Артур Минчук.

Силаева-Минчук, никогда не отличавшиеся чистым катанием (например, на юниорском чемпионате мира прошлого сезона они заняли 12-е место), допустили в своей короткой программе ряд грубых ошибок. Сначала Анна упала на 2А, а затем, в попытке поднять партнёршу на одной руке, была полностью сорвана поддержка. Всего 35.25 балла (16.40+19.85-1.00) и остаётся надеяться, что произвольную программу россияне исполнят на ином уровне.

Японцы Наруми Такахаси - Мервин Тран (Narumi Takahashi - Mervin Tran), в этом сезоне дважды оказавшиеся на подиуме и на взрослых Гран-при, допустили серьёзную ошибку в начале программы. Наруми сильно упала с недокрученного 2А. Затем была двойная подкрутка и выброс 3Т. Тем не менее, на оценках это сказалось незначительно - 53.94 (29.91+25.03-1.00).

Ксения Столбова и Фёдор Климов, продемонстрировавшие самое взрослое катание на турнире, выполнили двойную подкрутку, неплохой выброс 3Т и 2А (с падением партнёрши). Судьи насчитали какие-то нелепые 49.63 балла (26.20+24.43-1.00), заставив ждать итоговые протоколы.

Произвольная программа у спортивных пар состоится в субботу, 11 декабря, в 10:20 по московскому времени.

We can see in the first clip of the collision that Takahashi has a smile on his face almost immediately after hitting the ice, while poor Kozuka looks terrified and seems to make sure Daisuke is alright. Takahashi's music was playing so he has the right-of-way, but Takahiko obviously didn't do it intentionally. I think he'd wait until AFTER he was done rotating in the air if he was trying to be vicious ;-)



I don't know that I've ever seen a skater rotate RIGHT into someone in a crash. Usually they catch the other person out of the corner of their eye and the result is some wonky fall out to avoid a collision.

Luckily, both skaters are alright and will compete in the short program later tonight.

Japan qualified three ladies and three men for the Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final. Will there be podium sweeps, or will the North Americans play the role of spoiler?



Since the official beginning of the Grand Prix Series in 1995, a country has only swept the podium at the Grand Prix Final one time - that was in 1998 when Aleksei Yagudin, Aleksei Urmanov and Yevgeny Plushenko stood together on the men's podium, at home in Russia no less.

Though not at home in Japan, Daisuke Takahashi, Nobunari Oda, and Takahiko Kozuka have the opportunity to dominate the podium at the 2010 Final in Beijing.

Reigning world champion Takahashi may be the obvious favorite for gold, but teammate Kozuka has performed more consistently on the Grand Prix and posted the highest total score of the season two weeks ago in France. Should Oda decide to add a quad to his short program, he could vault ahead of his countrymen.

Japan not only qualified three men, but also three ladies' entrants, where the possibility to sweep is even stronger. 2007 world champion Miki Ando, world junior champion Kanako Murakami, and Olympian Akiko Suzuki all qualified for the Final.

Ando was the only lady to win both of her Grand Prix events this season, but the exuberant Murakami is the lady with a consistent triple-triple combination. Never count out the expressive Suzuki, who can land enough triples to make an impact.

So who can spoil Japan's potential dominance of the Grand Prix Final?

Canadian Patrick Chan is certainly a favorite for the podium. He has qualified for the Final twice before, finishing fifth both years, but this time comes rested and armed with a quad.

Without a quad, the final two qualifiers Tomas Verner and Florent Amodio will both pull out their Michael Jackson moves in the free skate and hope their charisma and triple-packed program will be enough.

For the ladies, Americans Rachael Flatt and Alissa Czisny need to pull out their best skates of the season to challenge the Japanese. Flatt struggled with an ankle injury in her two events. Now back to full strength, consistency could lead the U.S. champ to a medal at her first Final.

Meanwhile, Czisny showed a glimpse of brilliance by winning Skate Canada, but fell apart in the free skate at Grand Prix of France. Clean skates from the 2009 U.S. champ certainly put her in contention.

The pairs and ice dance events are centered on two interesting match-ups.

Reigning world champions Pang Qing and Tong Jian of China host former world champions Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy of Germany. While the Chinese will certainly have the crowd on their side, the edge goes to the Germans, who are more powerful and consistent on the side-by-side triple jumps.

In ice dance, the clear favorites are Olympic silver medalists Meryl Davis and Charlie White. The Americans came out strong at Grand Prix of Japan before uncharacteristic mistakes at Skate America.

Expect the U.S. champions to claim gold, but should they falter, the French team of Nathalie Pechalat and Fabian Bourzat will be waiting to take advantage. The 2009 French champs won both of their Grand Prix events, posting the only total score within four points of Davis and White's season's best.

Davis and White are the only defending Grand Prix Final champions competing in Beijing. The ladies' title was won by Yuna Kim or Mao Asada for the past five years, with the two going back and forth since 2005.

Further proof of the depth in Japanese skating - reigning world champion Asada did not even factor into the three Grand Prix Final qualifiers.

Is it finally Ando's turn to take the Grand Prix title, or could "mini-Mao" Murakami steal the show?
