But I waited for general topic like this topic.

Yes, this is a topic for all the news - which you do not know where to put :hi_hi_hi:

If this topic will be parted month by month, I'd be more happy :plush31:

"cool as a cucumber" is english or japanese phrase? :hi_hi_hi:

/o\ ...

Lambiel just said like "Plushenko seems like a cool person". But I'd say Japanees word "cool (kuuru)" has no meaning "smart" "nice" "good" "okay". Kuuru means just "calm" or "collected", "not friendly", "objectivization", "cold" (Though it's not negative meaning. people use "cool person" as just opposite meaning of "hot blooded person").
Plushy is "unaggressive"? ;;-)))

This is also, I have no idea how can I say this word in English. Moreover, I dont get what did Stephane really mean. "Actually Plushenko has strong personality"? "he actually expresses himself strongly"? "he is self-assertive (Not negative meaning)"? I dont know. D: Okay, I'll ask my british friend how can I say.

... this books make Japanese or skaters agents? :du_ma_et:

(As) cool as cucumbers is an English idiom which means very calm and in control of your emotions. I guess what stephane wants to express is that in certain way, Plushy is an easy going man and will not force his opinions onto others (unaggressive). But he is also a man who will stick to his own principle and won't let other people influence his mind (assertive) .

I have checked on Amazon, it seems for Stephane's book, you can only get in Japanese version. Not even a French version.
I have the same quesiton: "When will Plushy get such book?! :is_te_ri_ka: :is_te_ri_ka: " Even if it is only in Russian, I would like to have one!!!! :-) :-) :plush31:

In Japan it was issued and similar books about Weir :plush38: ... I am amazed that the Japanese do not use Plushy's popularity there. :ne_vi_del:

Thanks lovplush!!
His interview is translated in Japanese. He just said like "Plushenko seems like a cool and unassertive/unaggressive. But actually he is very assertive."

In this case,
Cool = No "attractive" or "fashionable" meaning
Unassertive = No good meaning
Unaggressive = No bad meaning

I couldn't find an appropriate word for this Japanese term "Jibun o dasu". Direct translation is "Show himself" or "Aggressiveness (no bad meaning)" or "Assertiveness (No good/bad meaning)". Hmm. I don't get what Stephane really mean. But I think he was speaking well of Plushy :)

Plushenko is one of popular foreign athletes but I think he has no fan in publishing company :p Yags's autobiography was published by his fan (maybe). Jonny's book too. ...Though I dont know what happened to Weir's art book, but it seems to have some trouble and stop publishing for now.
I just remembered. Once I asked my cousin, who was working at a publishing company's sports section, to publish his book or interview, but he said "I like female athlete or Japanese athlete" :plush43: and then he moved to fashion mag :pa_la_ch:

What happened with the translation of Plushy's autobiography ("Other show") in Japanese? I remember that she was supposed to come out last year... in the fall? :du_ma_et:

An interesting and funny information, which I found tonight :-) - and I will treated that as a "compliment", considering that it is a beautiful thoroughbred horse :a_g_a: :plush33:
The original owner was: The Honorable Earle I Mack :plush46: now some Italian corporation...
... I guess that first owner gave name to horse :du_ma_et: - some Plushy's fan? :hi_hi_hi:

Listed win for Nayef’s Plushenko

Image

PLUSHENKO enjoyed Stakes victory at Naples on Saturday, defeating six rivals in the 1m3f Listed Gran Premio UNIRE. These included older horses such as the Group 2 winner Silver Arrow and dual Listed winner PERMESSO (SAKHEE), as well as the three year old Billy Budd, who placed at the highest level last autumn in the Group 1 Gran Criterium.

This was PLUSHENKO‘s second win of the year for owner/breeder Allevamento la Nuova Sbarra, as he had already scored second time out in a conditions race at Rome’s Capanelle racecourse (see race below).

The 3-year-old colt is out of the Sadler’s Wells mare Vertigine Bianca and hails from the same family as this year’s Italian Derby winner Crackerjack King and the Group 1 winners Jakkalberry and Awelmarduk.
