Когда самолет идет на посадку в аэропорту Адлера, хорошо видны новые автомобильные развязки. Пока они не закончены и пробки на дороге из Адлера в Сочи, в самом городе продолжают оставаться главной транспортной проблемой города. Провести два-три часа в таких пробках — самое обычное дело. Впрочем, говорят, что положение с трафиком в городе постепенно улучшается. Я не успел этого заметить.

Всего на строительстве олимпийских объектов занято около 50 000 человек. Работа идет в три смены, 24 часа в сутки, без выходных.

Дворец зимнего спорта «Айсберг» — два года назад здесь только начинали возводить металлический каркас сооружения. Здесь пройдут соревнования по фигурному катанию и шорт-треку.

Здесь тоже делали пробную заливку льда, на котором покаталась олимпийская чемпионка Татьяна Навка. На трибунах начат монтаж пластиковых кресел.

Открыта аккредитация журналистов на Олимпийские игры в Сочи

Олимпийский комитет России объявляет о начале аккредитации представителей периодических печатных и сетевых средств массовой информации на XXII Олимпийские зимние игры 2014 года в Сочи.

Для подачи заявки необходимо до 7 сентября 2012 года предоставить в ОКР:

1. (в электронном виде) заполненную аккредитационную анкету (скачать);

2. (в письменном виде) оригинал письма-заявки об аккредитации в произвольной форме на бланке СМИ, подписанный главным редактором и заверенный печатью издания;

3. (в электронном или письменном виде) копию свидетельства о регистрации СМИ в Министерстве связи и массовых коммуникаций Российской Федерации;

Заявки, присланные после указанного срока, рассматриваться не будут.

The Russian Olympic Committee and Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee are delighted to reveal their plans today for the London 2012 Olympics. Russia.Sochi.Park in London’s prestigious Kensington Gardens will be the biggest Russian event ever to be held in the UK.

Russia.Sochi.Park comprises Russia.Park and Sochi.Park - two sites that will operate between July 26 and August 12.

Russia.Park will be a summer festival-style fun park, spread over a 10,000 m2 area in Perks Field. It will be packed with Russian culture, cuisine and sport, including cameos by some of Russia’s leading Olympians and performances by folk artists from all the regions of Russia.

Alexander Zhukov, President of the Russian Olympic Committee said:

“The world is fascinated by Russia, and Russia.Sochi.Park offers an opportunity to really experience all the sights, tastes, sounds and people of Russia”.

Sochi.Park will be a winter wonderland in the middle of a London summer, providing a high-tech visitor experience that takes guests through Russia to Sochi, the next Olympic host city via high-tech interactive digital experiences including a 4D chairlift ride up the Krasnodar mountains.

Sochi Park will boast an ice arena on which the biggest ice spectacular ever to be staged outside Russia will be presented: “Sochi - Small Stories of a Big City”, starring 6 Olympic and 18 World Champion ice skaters including llya Averbukh and Tatiana Navka.

Dmitry Chernyshenko, Sochi 2014 President and CEO, said:
“We are delighted to be bringing Sochi to London and offering the world a flavor of what can be expected at the next Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.”

On this Wednesday, something new or Christophe Dubi's misunderstanding information was reported. As it was said earlier, figure skating in Sochi will start before the opening ceremony, but what does "qualifying" mean? I guess Dubi mixed it up with Team Event.

LONDON (AP) - Competition at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, will begin a day before the opening ceremony - a first for a winter games.

Qualifying events in figure skating, freestyle skiing and snowboarding will take place on Feb. 6, 2014, to give organizers "breathing space," IOC sports director Christophe Dubi told The Associated Press on Wednesday.

The opening ceremony is Feb. 7 and the games will run to Feb. 23, meaning the games will cover 18 days rather than the standard 17.

The Sochi Games will feature 98 medal events, 12 more than the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

Dubi said the early qualifying will be held in the men's and pairs short program in figure skating, women's moguls in freestyle and men's snowboard slopestyle.

The move builds contingency into the packed sports schedule and makes it possible for more athletes to attend the opening ceremony the next day, when no competitions will be held, Dubi said. The first medal events will be held Feb. 8.

Competitions have been scheduled on the day of the opening ceremony at previous Winter Olympics, but this will be the first time events will be held a day before, Dubi said.

Events at the much bigger Summer Games usually start a few days before the opening ceremony. The women's soccer tournament kicked off at the London Olympics on Wednesday, two days before the opening ceremony.

Among the new events approved by the IOC last year for Sochi are women's ski jumping, men's and women's slopestyle, men's and women's ski halfpipe, mixed relay in biathlon and team events in luge and figure skating.

I was thinking that Team Event will be after single competitions?

... maybe there will be still some kind of qualifications on Oly? As I remember, ISU cancel QR only for their competitions

According to Japanese news paper, at first Team Event, and then individuals. So many fans don't want to see Team Event.

As for QR, I nevear heard QR during Olys, so far. Actually they have only for 16 days (up to 17 days)..


Anyway, I hope they will publish schedule soon
