Алексей Мишин: Плющенко освободили по моей просьбе

Вчера в Сочи состоялся тренерский совет, а на сегодняшнем исполкоме федерации был утвержден состав сборной на чемпионат Европы в Будапеште. Фамилия олимпийского чемпиона Евгения Плющенко в составе отсутствует.

Тренер Плющенко Алексей Мишин объяснил в интервью «Советскому спорту»:

- Евгения Плющенко и танцевальную пару Боброва/Соловьев освободили от чемпионата Европы, чтобы дать возможность спокойно и планомерно готовиться к Олимпийским играм.

- Вы согласны с этим решением? Вы считаете его правильным?
- Да, я считаю его абсолютно правильным. Это решение было принято по моей просьбе. Исполком согласился с моими доводами о том, что подготовка к сезону началась поздно, сейчас мы будем работать над повышением выносливости, делая длинные прокаты, прежде всего произвольной.

..I dont know what to think of it. Is he abandoning Sochi for good? By not going to Euros, I cannot think how he can be named to the team of Olys...I would have been fine if I had not seen his awesome 4-3 and 3axel at the sp.
Love him anyway and wish his best.

No, he will be, in the worst case - "reserve" skater to Kovtun.... and to the Olympics have a lot of time - there are Euro (results there), possible Kovtun's problems with health, etc...

Plushenko told media at RUS Nat'ls he "doesn't exclude" he will go to Euros. Coach Mishin said he is not going. Confusion!
But I don't think RUS Fed can easily change team past deadline once entries & subs are sumbitted. So far he's not even a substitute.

@PlushenkoNews He just said it in the mixed zone to Russian TV. Russian agency and myself were also present.
In mixed zone, shortly after awards ceremony.
