It's good to finally have the Olympics program, after all the Youtube deletes. He did skate rather cautiously there, but the step sequences were phenomenal. A more subdued Godfather compared to the aggressive earlier performances.

Thank you, Cekoni! The Tango Roxanne link works now. ;) Now I can finally enjoy it without Peter Carruthers prattling on about Vancouver and mixing the WWF with the WWE (as much as the image of Plush working with the World Wildlife Fund amuses me).

What is WWF and WWE?

WWE = World Wrestling Entertainment
WWF = World Wildlife Fund (an organization dedicated to protecting the cute fuzzy creatures of this world )

After the LP, Peter Carruthers said about Plush (paraphrased): "He's not your typical figure skater guy. He's like a boxer in a ring, or some WWF guy." I assume he meant WWE, since I don't see what Plushy's fist-pumping has to do with protecting animals.

(I'm probably being too harsh on Carruthers. It is an honest mistake, and I did get a very good laugh out of it).

What a strange competition. Virtually no clean programs in sight for any discipline. Plush falling on his quad and doubling the 3A + Yagudin doubling his quad.

Huh, I didn't realize Paul Wylie was so negative about Plush back in the day. He completely changed his tone by 2004-05 GPF. Bolero isn't my favourite SP and Plush was overscored compared to Takeshi Honda... but so was Yagudin with his double toe loop and obvious stumble after the triple lutz (that the commentators didn't even point out). The commentary was so biased it sounded like he had an agenda, which is what bothers me. Of course, Yagudin should enjoy his win, since he won nothing else that season.

Also, more weirdness from the broadcast: They introduced Japan by using music from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon... a Chinese film.
