The guest list for the eagerly-awaited week of golf, glamour and gala events reads like a Who’s Who of global show business and elite sporting endeavour.
In total, participants in this year’s star-spangled event have collected more than 160 acting awards, over 100 music awards, 35 Olympic and World Championship medals and a staggering 335 professional golf victories, including 15 Majors.
The third edition of the World Celebrity Pro-Am will be held from 24-26 October at the fully-integrated Mission Hills Haikou Resort on the tropical island of Hainan.
The tournament will see 24 professional golfers and 24 celebrities come together for a bonanza of action and entertainment – including the first-ever staging in China of the new combination sport that is taking Europe by storm, football-golf.
For the first time, the World Celebrity Pro-Am will feature a Ryder Cup-style format, with the 24 celebrities divided into two teams for an Entertainment v Sport showdown. Each celebrity will be paired with a professional golfer and the teams will face off over two rounds of fourball betterball.
While assisting their celebrity playing partners, the professional golfers will also be competing for an individual prize fund of US$1 million.

2014 Celebrity Players:http://www.missionhillswcpa.com/en-us/s ... ities.htmlEvgeni Plushenko
A famous Russian figure skater. He is a four-time Olympic medalist
A three-time World champion, a seven-time European champion, A four-time Grand Prix Final champion, and a ten-time Russian national champion.
Figure skating great Evgeni Plushenko has set his sights on competing in his fifth Winter Olympics after recovering from a back injury.
“Everything that was broken has been fixed and there is nothing left to break. I will try to participate in my fifth Games and give a dignified performance,” he told a news conference in Moscow.
In February, Plushenko helped Russia to team gold in the Sochi Winter Olympics – thus joining 1930s Swedish legend Gillis Grafstrom as the only four-time Olympic figure skating medalists.
But his ongoing back problem forced him to withdraw from the Olympic men’s short programme a few days later. That prompted him to announce his retirement from skating, although he quickly went back on that decision.
Now he is aiming for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Peongchang, South Korea, when he will be 35 years old. “If need be, I’ll have another 10 operations,” he added. “I’m not ruling out that I’ll go for a fifth Olympic Games. I want to stay in skating to prove something to many people and to myself.”
Plushenko previously won Olympic gold in 2006 and silver in 2002 and 2010. If he does make it to Peongchang, he will match the 2006 achievement of Lithuanian ice dancers Margarita Drobiazko and Povilas Vanagas, who became the first figure skaters to compete in five Olympics.
