News about Daisuke´s programs! Dominique, it´s obvious that I am not south-mediterranean, beacause I prefer their PR strategy! :hi_hi_hi: :-) I´ve never seen so many news about a SP before! :sh_ок:

And because I´ve promoted the blog of Tony Wheeler, let´s see now what propaganda means and how it works!
Somebody asked Tony the next question:Is the quad a more dangerous jump to practice in terms of more injuries to skaters and so on? And if so, should skaters accept the risk as they do with other jumps, or focus instead on upping the ante on other elements of the program?
And Tony´s answer (the important part, you can read the rest on his blog if you are intersted):If you can't do the quad, it's not the end of the world. Many of the men today have developed their own styles and flow across the ice effortlessly with plenty of difficult transitions and choreography. But if your skating skills are weak and you really like jumping, you better be doing quads all over the place if you ever want to contend! :bra_vo: :bra_vo: :bra_vo:
Hope you like it! :plush45:

Dominique, I think you understand now why is clever to talk about your programs, and specially to have Tony Wheeler & Co on your side!

Well,well that Tony Wheeler.....is wheeler dealer. :plush38:
Clairedelalune, you are very right. Propaganda and excellent public relations is a way to get on top in every kind of human activity. The more something is being said the more believable it becomes ("quads don't mean all that much e.t.c.,e.t.c.) especially nowdays that the media have gained unique power in transforming human opinion.
However, Zhenya is on top. Everyone knows him worldwide, they can try to undermine him but this does not change. plush48
The other guy (you know who) got a gold Olympic medal but who wants to run and see him skate? He doesn't have the persona, he doesn't have the moves.
This doesn't mean that when you are the best you shouldn't be extra careful and try to protect yourself even in terms of public relations. In that sense sometimes too much talking and overexposure may at times be self-harmful instead of self-promoting. This is one of the things I meant when I wrote that real men don't say much (in a non-south-mediterranean sense).
Anyway, I remember a banner at the ISA in Torino that said "Carry us away Daisuke". :kli_ny:
I mean....come on ...hey, friends at the forum, you've seen Daisuke skate...he is accurate but..can he "carry you away"???!!! No bloody way. Lambiel will have to make him hang from the ceiling upside down or whatever....
dominique
P.S.1 Plushy also has Yana...and Yana seems to be a very smart lady. :plush28:
P.S.2 my computer is not translating Scarlett's message. I can only make out "olympic' and choreography in the first line. Pity!

I think that you not understandgood good his "background stories", clairdelalune: :mi_ga_et:

- he think that difficult transitions and choreography can replace quads - with which i am not agree
- he "highlights" weak skating skills, as a reason for jumping qauds ..... what is, by me, directly labeling those who are currently jump quads, as "weak" skaters....

P.S. you read earlier Tony Wheeler's blog? You know that he not "like" (nicely saying) Zhenya? :du_ma_et:

Of course, his blog is full of this kind of things and attacks against Zhenya and against persons who support him (Elvis Stojko for example) :plush43: . I´ve quoted him because I wanted to show you what manipulation means, I really wonder if he gets payed for the propaganda or is simply "patriotism". :plush38: But did you read the comments below? :plush46:

Is this Tony Wheeler an important person?
Those people imply that skaters who do quads cannot skate. :ze_le_ny: And i still can't understand how come a skater gets less pc points in a competition than the previos one even though he improved it in choreographywise.. :sh_ок:

Who had that banner, the judges? :-) Daisuke´s PCS in Torino was 86.50, the highest PCS ever, Lambiel´s PCS in Vancouver was 83.60, I believe that Daisuke should be Stephane´s choreographer! ;;-)))
