Three women will be selected to make the Olympic team following the competition here, and the U.S. champion is not guaranteed a spot in Sochi. An international selection committee will pick the trio to send with a lot of weight given to this competition but also to other major competitions.

- the "argument" that Tarasova is Plutin's "trusted person" (400 public figures which are for Putin) is not enough - Plushy is same, also!

Однако спустя две недели после первенства Евгений Плющенко заявил о возможном своем участии в Олимпиаде в Сочи. Будет ли Федерация фигурного катания России выбирать?

Тренер по фигурному катанию, доверенное лицо президента России Татьяна Тарасова прокомментировала в интервью сайту доверенныелица.рф информацию о том, что на путевку на Олимпиаду в Сочи помимо ее ученика Максима Ковтуна стал претендовать и Евгений Плющенко. «Я еду на Олимпиаду в Сочи. Вместе с Еленой Водорезовой мы готовим к выступлению на зимних Олимпийских играх в Сочи Максима Ковтуна. Каждый день мы проводим с ним по две-три тренировки, а в воскресенье мы уезжаем на чемпионат Европы. Мы полностью живем жизнью спортсмена. Состав олимпийской сборной России будет утвержден 23 января - Мутко

Состав олимпийской сборной России на Игры-2014 в Сочи будет утвержден 23 января, заявил агентству "Р-Спорт" министр спорта РФ Виталий Мутко.

XXII зимние Олимпийские игры пройдут в Сочи с 7 по 23 февраля. Ранее Мутко говорил, что окончательная заявка должна быть сформирована "где-то до 25" января.

"Я вчера согласовал с Олимпийским комитетом (России, ОКР) дату - 23 января. Будет совместное заседание коллегии министерства спорта и исполкома ОКР, на котором штаб подготовки олимпийской команды доложит обобщенную информацию от всех федераций. Мы утвердим состав национальной команды и дадим поручение руководителю штаба Александру Кравцову и одному из руководителей олимпийского комитета сформировать заявку в МОК", - сказал Мутко по телефону.

Министр спорта добавил, что до 27 января еще могут быть внесены некоторые изменения в состав олимпийской команды.

"Последний день заявки - 27 января. До этого числа мы что-то еще можем доредактировать. Формально 26 января наша делегация выезжает и начинает подавать заявку, - отметил собеседник агентства. - Далее будет сформирован график, и с 29 января начнутся заезды в олимпийскую деревню".
